Business Value Scale Analyst
Job Overview
Stripe is a leading financial infrastructure platform empowering millions of businesses worldwide, from startups to global enterprises, to manage payments, enhance revenue, and unlock new business opportunities. Our mission is to significantly increase the GDP of the internet, presenting an unparalleled chance to shape the global economy and undertake career-defining work.
The Business Value Consulting (BVC) team is central to driving sustained growth and value creation for Stripe’s most significant clients. This team excels at quantifying the financial and strategic advantages derived from Stripe’s comprehensive platform, covering aspects like revenue optimization and operational efficiency. They translate these impacts into robust business cases that are fundamental to closing Stripe’s largest and most intricate deals. Through a consultative methodology, the BVC team aims to foster investment confidence and elevate discussions at the C-suite level, ultimately driving tangible business outcomes and accelerating decision-making processes.
The Business Value Scale Analyst role is a newly established position designed to amplify the BVC team’s influence across Stripe’s Go-To-Market (GTM) organization. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of systematic programs, advanced financial modeling, thought leadership initiatives, and data-driven insights. The work produced by this analyst will directly shape the outcomes of Stripe’s most critical deals.
What You Will Do:
The Business Value Scale Analyst will be instrumental in:
- Financial Model Development and Ownership: Designing, constructing, quality assuring, and maintaining high-caliber value tools. This includes ROI and TCO models, payback and NPV analyses, sensitivity and scenario models, and competitive benchmarks.
- Automation and Tooling: Engineering seamless integrations between Stripe’s internal data repositories and value-delivery tools. The goal is to automate the generation of financial outputs, compelling narratives, and essential sales artifacts at scale.
- Code-Driven Workflows: Utilizing Python, SQL, and JavaScript to build and maintain robust data pipelines, automate the creation of financial models, and produce formatted outputs that GTM teams can deploy directly in customer interactions.
- Assumptions Governance: Establishing and maintaining a meticulously documented, version-controlled library of all assumptions. This library will include sourced benchmarks, defined sign-off workflows, and audit trails, ensuring that every model is rigorously defensible in high-stakes customer or board-level discussions.
- Usage Instrumentation: Implementing instrumentation within the tools to meticulously track GTM adoption rates, the depth of user engagement, and the utilization of outputs. The analyst will apply the same analytical rigor to measuring the program’s effectiveness as they do to the financial models themselves.
- Scalable Solutions: Creating reusable templates and modules, and building a comprehensive library of repeatable solutions that significantly accelerate value delivery across the entire organization.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Coordinating effectively with various teams across Stripe to ensure benchmarks remain current and credible, foster widespread adoption of developed solutions, and pioneer innovative approaches to value quantification.
Who You Are:
We are seeking candidates who possess intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, proactivity, analytical rigor, and exceptional communication skills. While the minimum requirements outline the essential qualifications, candidates are encouraged to apply even if they don’t meet every preferred qualification.
- Minimum Requirements:
- 2–4 years of professional experience in management consulting, strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate finance, strategic finance, or a role within fintech, SaaS, or technology with significant financial exposure.
- Demonstrated strong business analysis and financial modeling capabilities, including unit economics, ROI and TCO analysis, sensitivity and scenario modeling, and NPV and payback calculations.
- Working coding experience applied to analytics, automation, or data workflows using Python, SQL, or JavaScript.
- Effective cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to clearly translate between financial outcomes and technical products.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong governance mindset, ensuring that assumptions are sourced, versioned, and defensible.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in building interactive tools or analytical models intended for broad user adoption.
- Exposure to BI/visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau for creating dashboards and analyzing adoption metrics.
- Prior experience with value consulting, deal pricing, or commercial strategy within a SaaS or enterprise technology context.
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Working Remotely at Stripe: A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from any Stripe office. While in-office presence for team meetings, on-sites, and events is possible, the expectation is regular work from home. Stripe does not cover relocation costs for remote positions. Applicants are encouraged to apply for roles aligned with their current or intended living location.
