Key Responsibilities
- Define evidence-based readiness criteria for regional launches, traffic migrations, and failovers.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks on critical payment paths using system data.
- Lead end-to-end cross-functional delivery for new-region infrastructure and safe service behaviors.
- Build reusable validation tooling that accelerates infrastructure integration for new acquisitions.
- Convert recurring operational friction into scalable platform capabilities used across teams.
- Lead technical conversations and define decision mechanisms across Core Infrastructure and product teams.
- Develop and communicate a multi-year technical strategy for REP with quarterly milestones.
- Debug production issues across services and layers of the stack.
- Mentor and grow senior engineers, elevating technical planning and design standards.
- Collaborate effectively in a global, distributed environment with asynchronous decision-making.
Requirements & Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent field.
- 12+ years of professional experience in software or infrastructure engineering.
- Proven track record leading complex, cross-team or company-wide infrastructure projects at scale.
- Strong engineering background in distributed systems, platform engineering, or backend infrastructure.
- Experience optimizing reliability and security of distributed systems with zero downtime.
- Strong technical judgment, written communication skills, and experience with design docs.
- Experience mentoring engineers at various career stages.
- Experience with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP.
- Familiarity with ops culture, metrics, alarms, and dashboards.
