About the Team

We are assembling an elite team dedicated to driving financial insight and strategic direction at Stripe. The Finance & Strategy (F&S) team provides clarity and predictability regarding Stripe’s financial performance. We collaborate closely with our key business partners to foster long-term growth for the company.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner to F&S and Business Leaders, contributing to the long-term success of Stripe.
• Coach, mentor, and supervise a team of junior analysts, fostering their professional development.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify critical strategic questions and provide data-driven answers.
• Develop financial forecasts and targets, meticulously track performance, and analyze deviations from actuals to guide strategy and operational discipline.
• Cultivate a deep understanding of Stripe’s business performance across different geographies and user segments.
• Define key metrics and leading indicators for business performance. Partner with the Analytics team to create tools and dashboards that make these metrics readily accessible throughout Stripe.

Who You Are

Minimum Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), strategic finance, or business-finance roles.
• At least 2 years of experience in a team management capacity.
• Demonstrated experience owning planning and forecasting processes, covering areas such as headcount, operating expenses, and/or revenue.
• Solid understanding of financial analysis fundamentals, including budgeting, forecasting, month-end close support, and budget-versus-actual variance analysis.
• Proven ability to manage and develop a small team of analysts, including setting priorities, reviewing work, providing coaching, and establishing clear accountability.
• Capacity to manage a defined individual-contributor portfolio concurrently with people-management responsibilities (approximately 50% individual contribution and 50% management).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and/or Python, with a proven track record of automating recurring analyses and enhancing finance workflows through AI-enabled tools and automation.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, independently formulate a point of view, and drive cross-functional projects to successful completion.
• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills, with a history of serving as a trusted, objective finance partner to business leaders.
• Experience working effectively across diverse regions, time zones, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within a strategic finance function at a fast-growing technology company, ideally within the payments or fintech sector.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL or Python.
• Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools.

In-Office Expectations

Stripes assigned to offices in most of our locations are currently expected to spend a minimum of 50% of their time within a given month at their local office or engaging with users. This expectation may vary based on the specific role, team, and location. For instance, Stripes in Stripe Delivery Center roles located in Mexico City, Mexico, Bengaluru, India, and Dublin, Ireland, are required to work 100% from the office. Additionally, certain teams may have higher in-office attendance requirements to adequately support our users and workflows; these will be discussed by the hiring manager. This balanced approach aims to foster in-person collaboration and mutual learning while supporting flexibility where feasible.
