About the Role

NCR Voyix is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer (.Net) to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial for leading the design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of critical enterprise retail software solutions. You will be instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring the scalability, security, and maintainability of our applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle for enterprise retail applications using C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET, REST APIs, SQL Server, and related technologies.
• Drive technical design discussions, architectural decisions, and implementation strategies to ensure robust and efficient software solutions.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, QA engineers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software products.
• Resolve complex technical issues and provide timely support for production systems.
• Spearhead modernization initiatives, focusing on areas such as cloud adoption (Azure, AWS, GCP), API-driven development, microservices architecture, automation, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce engineering best practices, and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) to enhance productivity, improve code quality, and ensure security, performance, and maintainability.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation and actively participate in release management and operational excellence activities.
• Contribute to a modernization mindset, embracing continuous learning and staying abreast of emerging technologies.
• Take ownership of features and systems from initial design through to production support.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on enterprise application development.
• Proven expertise in C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET, REST APIs, JavaScript, SQL Server, XML, and relational databases.
• Solid understanding of software architecture principles, system design, object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Proficiency in secure coding practices, various testing methodologies, and effective code review techniques.
• Hands-on experience with version control systems like GitHub and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and leading application modernization or cloud migration projects.
• Experience utilizing AI-powered development tools to assist in coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.
• Excellent technical leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical direction and lead initiatives across teams.
• Experience in the retail, commerce, pricing, inventory, accounting, or tax reporting domains is considered a significant advantage.
