Job Overview

Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at RIDE!

Who are we?
RIDE! is a NewSpace company based in Paris or Toulouse, France, founded in 2020. Our mission is to provide the most reliable, convenient, and affordable launch experience to any smallsat, from booking to lift-off. As one of the worldwide leaders in access to space, launch brokerage, and end-to-end launch management, RIDE! empowers the smallsat ecosystem with a new standard of collaboration with Launch providers, based on:

  • Exclusive deals with more than 35+ launch providers and OTVs to benefit from secured affordable conditions.
  • Off-the-shelf reliable launch services to ensure all integration & launchpad operations, regulatory requirements, and launch interface project management.
  • A launch-on-demand platform (app.ridespace.io) to find the best launch opportunities and streamline mission management.

From one single cubesat to a full constellation, from classic SSO to complex orbits, from simple launch brokerage to full end-to-end launch management, RIDE!’s expertise, platform, and unique know-how add value to our satellite partners. Our vision is to become the NEW standard of Access to Space and provide the ultimate affordable, convenient, and reliable launch experience anywhere in the World.

Your Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the CCO holds a dual mandate that is strategically vital for RIDE!’s growth: managing the commercial team dedicated to satellite operators, and driving RIDE!’s launch capacity strategy and relationships with launch providers.

On the commercial side, you will manage an already-established team of Business Developers, ensuring they perform and close deals. You will personally step in on high-stakes negotiations and closings, and can act as the point of contact on RIDE!’s key accounts when needed.

On the launch strategy side, you are RIDE!’s architect of access to launch capacity. RIDE! is moving from brokering launch opportunities to securing capacity ahead of demand. You will lead RIDE!’s own capacity procurement strategy (dedicated and shared missions, multi-launch agreements, emerging launch vehicles) and negotiate directly with launch providers and OTVs to lock in preferential terms, exclusive allocations, and early access to new launch vehicles.

You sit at the intersection of sales performance and supply-side strategy: what your team sells depends directly on the capacity you secure upstream. This position is open exclusively to candidates with prior professional experience in the space industry.

You will be responsible for the following missions:

Commercial Leadership

  • Challenge and implement the Business Strategy for 2027.
  • Manage the team of Business Developers, ensuring they deliver on their pipeline and successfully close deals.
  • Take the lead on high-stakes, strategic negotiations, stepping in whenever needed to secure a deal.
  • Act as the point of contact on key accounts among satellite operators when relevant.
  • Support clients in managing their launch project by ensuring effective communication with the Launch Planning department.
  • Deliver and commit to business excellence and performance to the Executive Board.

Launch Strategy & Capacity Procurement

  • Define and execute RIDE!’s launch capacity procurement strategy, including dedicated missions, multi-launch agreements, and rideshare programs.
  • Build and negotiate direct commercial relationships with launch providers and OTVs to secure exclusive deals, preferential pricing, and priority access to capacity.
  • Monitor the launch vehicle market (established and emerging providers) to anticipate capacity constraints and identify strategic acquisition or partnership opportunities.
  • Structure capacity-sharing or co-investment arrangements with other integrators or operators when relevant.
  • Act as a senior representative of RIDE! within the international space ecosystem, building and maintaining strategic relationships with launch providers and institutional stakeholders.
  • May also be tasked with creating or editing new products and services offered by RIDE!

Profile Requirements

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in “Business Oriented” and/or strategic roles in the space industry.
  • Significant experience in space launches, ideally with direct exposure to launch capacity procurement, launch brokerage, or rideshare/dedicated mission structuring.
  • Proven track record closing high-value, complex deals.
  • A well-developed, dual-sided network in the space industry: launch providers/OTVs upstream, and satellite operators/manufacturers downstream.
  • Proven experience managing a commercial team.
  • Located in Paris or Toulouse at first.
  • Fluent in English (mandatory); professional French is a strong plus.

Hard Skills:

  • Complex, high-value sales management and end-to-end sales process management (from negotiation to closing).
  • Key account management.
  • Launch capacity procurement and negotiation with launch vehicle providers.
  • Deep knowledge of the space launch market and its stakeholders (launch providers, OTVs, satellite operators).
  • Team management.
  • Business Strategy.

Soft Skills:

  • Reliability and commitment to delivering results.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to “connect the dots” in a complex, fast-evolving ecosystem.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Emotional intelligence.
  • Agility and strong adaptability.

  • The opportunity to join a fast-growing, well-structured NewSpace company and work closely with an experienced leadership team.
  • The opportunity to work on various projects with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.
