Software Engineer
Job Overview
Blackhawk Network India is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Kozhikode, Kerala. In this role, you will be responsible for performing all phases of software engineering, including design, development, testing, and deployment in an Agile software development environment. You will have the opportunity to own end-to-end development on key components and features, contributing directly to the success of our global financial technology products.
As a Software Engineer, you will design and develop new features using various programming languages. Our primary technology stack includes Java, NodeJS, JavaScript, and SQL, along with robust back-end systems (API/SOA/Middleware). You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, conduct research on new technologies for product development, and recommend product enhancements to keep our platform at the cutting edge of the industry.
Key aspects of this role include:
- End-to-End Feature Ownership: Taking complete ownership of the software development lifecycle for specific features, from initial design to final deployment.
- Collaborative Development: Working closely with product managers, quality assurance engineers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Code Quality and Reviews: Actively participating in peer code reviews, analyzing results, and choosing the best technical solutions to maintain high standards of code quality.
- Continuous Improvement: Focusing on improving software performance, scalability, and reliability through continuous refactoring and optimization.
- Security and Compliance: Participating in Information Security analysis and remediation to ensure our financial systems remain secure and compliant.
We are looking for candidates who possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field of study, along with 2-3 years of hands-on professional experience with object-oriented and functional software engineering using Java, NodeJS, and related technologies. Experience in creating, maintaining, and integrating APIs, working on back-end services (REST Web services, middleware), and working with Relational Databases (SQL, Postgres) is highly desirable. Additionally, familiarity with cloud environments, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS), and microservice architectures will set you apart.

Requirements & Qualifications
