About the Bangalore Finance (BFin) Hub
The BFin hub houses critical teams that manage end-to-end financial operations globally. These include Accounts Payable & Vendor Onboarding, Travel & Expense (T&E), Payroll, Monetisation Operations, and Controllership. Together, these teams ensure that Stripe’s financial infrastructure remains resilient, compliant, and highly efficient.
Key Leadership & Operational Responsibilities
As the Head of Finance Operations in Bangalore, you will own the strategic and operational leadership of the entire BFin organization. This is a dual-focus role requiring both builder and operator mindsets. You will manage a team of 4 to 6 direct reports (who are themselves managers and team leads) and oversee a combined organization of 60 to 100+ Stripes.
Your core responsibilities will span across several critical pillars:
- People Leadership: Setting a high performance bar, developing leadership capabilities within your management team, and fostering a culture of ownership, precision, and psychological safety.
- Strategic Alignment: Partnering with the global Head of Finance Operations to translate global strategies into actionable local operating plans and OKRs.
- Operational Excellence: Owning key service metrics such as accuracy rates, processing cycle times, SLA adherence, cost per transaction, and employee satisfaction.
- Infrastructure Scaling: Designing organizational models and operating cadences capable of supporting 2x to 10x volume growth.
- Risk & Controllership: Embedding robust internal controls into every process, partnering with Accounting, SOX, and Internal Audit to maintain compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Bangalore FinOps Organisation, managing 4–6 team leads and a combined org of 60–100+ employees.
- Translate global financial strategies into clear Bangalore operating plans and OKRs.
- Drive operational excellence across key metrics: accuracy rates, processing cycle times, SLA adherence, and cost per transaction.
- Partner with FinOps Strategic Enablement to identify and implement AI and automation opportunities.
- Design and maintain scalable organizational models to support 2x–10x volume growth.
- Embed strong internal controls (SOX) into every process and maintain compliance with regulatory and tax requirements.
- Build trusted partnerships with global Finance Operations leads, Accounting, Legal, HR, and Engineering.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 18+ years of relevant experience in Finance Operations, Accounting Operations, Shared Services, or Business Finance.
- Meaningful experience in a GCC, Captive, or SDC environment.
- Proven experience managing teams-of-teams with 40+ total staff across multiple functional domains.
- Deep domain expertise in Accounts Payable, Payroll, T&E, AR/Billing, Monetisation, or Controllership.
- Direct, hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or formal process redesign.
- Track record of driving AI and automation adoption within Finance Operations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
