United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking a qualified and motivated AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Testing) Engineer to join the National Space Science and Technology Center (NSSTC) in Abu Dhabi. This is an exceptional entry-level opportunity for aspiring space professionals to contribute to the prestigious S-813 Spacecraft Program.

The successful candidate will support the Spacecraft Lead across all AIT aspects of the program, starting from the selection of the S-813 Spacecraft Supplier through the design, development, integration, and testing phases, up to the final shipment of the spacecraft to the launch site. Special attention will be given to ensuring the adequacy of the Supplier’s AIT plan with the state-of-the-art NSSTC AIT facilities, ensuring timely availability of these facilities, and supporting NSSTC AIT operators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Spacecraft Lead on all AIT aspects of the S-813 Program from supplier selection to launch site shipment.
  • Provide technical support to the S-813 Spacecraft Lead in all spacecraft integration and testing activities.
  • Contribute to the daily management of the technical relationship with the S-813 Spacecraft Supplier’s AIT Lead.
  • Ensure the technical implementation and coordination of NSSTC AIT facilities and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • Review all supplier deliverable documentation related to spacecraft assembly, integration, and testing.
  • Contribute to the preparation, review, and resolution of Review Items Discrepancies (RIDs) and Action Items.
  • Verify that the supplier’s AIT plan is fully compatible with NSSTC facility capabilities and validate the final plan.
  • Plan short and medium-term activities with the supplier to organize the AIT team schedule and book testing facilities.
  • Support the preparation of the NSSTC AIT team training program in coordination with the spacecraft supplier.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Telecommunications Engineering.
  • Strong interest and foundational knowledge in space technology and spacecraft subsystems.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom operations, safety protocols, and Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and technical review skills.
  • Strong communication skills in English to coordinate effectively with international suppliers and internal teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a highly technical, multidisciplinary environment.
