About the Reliability Engineer Role at KBR, Inc.
KBR, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Reliability Engineer to join our world-class engineering team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the operational readiness, safety, and reliability of complex industrial assets. You will work across various engineering disciplines, including Mechanical (Rotary & Static), Instrumentation (I&C, F&G, Telecom), Electrical, and CMMS (SAP), to implement robust reliability strategies that minimize downtime and optimize lifecycle costs.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
As a Reliability Engineer, your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams. Your primary objective will be to identify potential failure modes and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to enhance asset performance.
- Analyzing equipment history and failure trends using CMMS (SAP) to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement maintenance strategies for rotary and static mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and instrumentation (including Control, Fire & Gas, and Telecom systems).
- Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) for asset reliability and reporting on maintenance efficiency and equipment availability.
- Providing technical support during plant turnarounds, shutdowns, and commissioning phases to ensure reliability standards are met.
- Ensuring compliance with international engineering standards, safety regulations, and KBR’s internal quality protocols.
Required Qualifications and Expertise
To succeed in this role, you must possess a strong academic background combined with practical field experience in reliability engineering. KBR is looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Control, Corrosion, or Metallurgy Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Proven experience in reliability engineering within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy infrastructure industries.
- Active professional certifications such as Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) are highly preferred.
- Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), specifically SAP, for asset tracking and maintenance planning.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
