Stripe is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Copy Editor to join our Narrative and Editorial team within the Product Marketing division. The Copy Desk is responsible for reviewing and editing a wide array of marketing materials. In this role, you will not only edit content but also act as a guardian of Stripe’s unique voice and tone. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Sales, Partnerships, and Demand Generation, to ensure that all published content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with our brand guidelines.
Key areas of focus for this role include:
- Content Editing: Reviewing and copy editing blog posts, comprehensive guides, detailed reports, infographics, customer success stories, email campaigns, web pages, advertisements, and video transcripts.
- Style Guide Evolution: Continuously updating, refining, and clarifying Stripe’s internal style guide to address new editorial challenges and reflect the evolution of our brand voice.
- AI Tool Integration: Building, customizing, and maintaining AI-driven writing and editing tools using Stripe’s internal platforms to streamline the editing process for both the Copy Desk and upstream marketing teams.
- Operational Excellence: Iterating on existing operational processes, managing intake queues, maintaining service level agreements (SLAs), and implementing quality assurance measures to support scaling.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and copy edit all kinds of marketing content to apply style guidelines and uphold the quality bar.
- Ensure fidelity to Stripe’s voice and tone, eliminate errors, replace jargon with plainspeak, and turn clunkiness into grace.
- Continuously amend, improve, and clarify the style guide as new editorial challenges are solved.
- Build and maintain AI tools that the Copy Desk and upstream marketers can use in the editing process.
- Iterate on existing operational processes for intake, queue and service level management, and quality assurance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years working as a copy editor across channels and experience with a breadth of content formats.
- Experience working with a diversity of teams, including those with regional considerations.
- A passion for copy editing and a deep understanding of the importance and power of well-written prose.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English, Creative Writing, or related field.
