Selection & Exam Process
Phase I: Shortlisting based on GATE 2025 Score
- Initial shortlisting of candidates will be done purely on the basis of a valid GATE 2025 Score in Computer Science and Information Technology (CS), Electronics and Communications Engineering (EC), or Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA) disciplines.
- Candidates must enter their exact GATE score (range 0 to 1000) during the online application.
Phase II: Personal Interview / Interaction
- IHMCL reserves the right to invite shortlisted candidates for a personal interview or interaction based on category-wise cut-offs.
- If the number of applications is large, additional shortlisting criteria may be adopted by the Selection Committee.
Phase III: Document Verification & Medical Examination
- Selected candidates must produce original documents for verification.
- A service bond of Rs. 3.00 Lakhs for a minimum of 3 years must be executed at the time of joining.
Selection Criteria & GATE 2025 Weightage
Since recruitment is conducted directly through GATE 2025 scores, there is no separate written exam conducted by IHMCL. The evaluation pattern is structured as follows:
- GATE Score Weightage: Primary merit is determined by the valid GATE 2025 Score (out of 1000) in CS, EC, or DA papers.
- Tie-Breaking Rule: If two or more candidates secure the same score, the candidate older in age will be ranked higher in the merit list.
- Interview/Interaction: Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview, the details of which will be communicated subsequently.

Preparation Tips for IHMCL Systems Engineer Aspirants
Since the selection is highly competitive and relies entirely on the GATE score, candidates should adopt a rigorous preparation strategy:
- Understand the Weightage: Allocate more time to high-yield topics in your respective GATE syllabus. General Aptitude and Engineering Mathematics are scoring sections that should not be ignored.
- Solve Previous Years’ Papers: Practice at least 10-15 years of previous GATE question papers to understand the difficulty level and question patterns.
- Take Mock Tests regularly: Enroll in a standard online test series to build speed, accuracy, and time management skills under exam-like conditions.
- Focus on Conceptual Clarity: GATE questions test deep conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization. Ensure your fundamentals are rock solid.
- Revise Consistently: Create short notes for formulas, theorems, and key concepts, and revise them weekly to retain information effectively.
