Job Overview

The Data Surveillance Analyst (DSA) at Parexel is responsible for analyzing scientific and operational data to support the Data Surveillance process and reviewing project-specific Quality Tolerance Limits. They assist in developing Data Surveillance Plans (DSPs) and conduct defined project reviews. The DSA also attends internal and external Data Surveillance meetings, where they present relevant findings to the project team.

Key Responsibilities & Contributions

  • Support the development of a robust Data Surveillance Plan, including Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Quality Tolerance Limits (QTLs), and central statistical analysis.
  • Configure and maintain Data Surveillance technologies such as the CluePoints Central Monitoring Platform, creating data import mapping for all data sources and bespoke KRIs.
  • Review relevant data via scoped technologies and additional sources to support designated DS Analyst reviews per study requirements.
  • Document findings from Data Surveillance activities in the DS Findings Form, Issue Tracking systems, and other regulatory documentation.
  • Apply technical knowledge and professional judgment to identify and evaluate data quality trends, outliers, and emergent risks.
  • Actively participate in investigator meetings, external/internal client reviews, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Escalate non-compliance, delays, or data quality signals promptly to Functional Leaders when immediate site/study intervention is needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional DS team members to correlate findings and build client-ready issue lists.
