As a Senior AI/ML Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and scaling machine learning models and infrastructure that detect and prevent fraudulent activities in real-time. This includes combating online fraud such as account takeovers, payment fraud, spam, and fake listings, as well as addressing offline safety concerns. You will work on complex challenges involving identity verification, reputation systems, and risk assessment, directly impacting millions of users daily.

Key Responsibilities and Impact

• Model Development & Optimization: Design, train, and deploy state-of-the-art machine learning models to identify anomalous behaviors and fraudulent patterns. You will work with massive datasets, utilizing both structured and unstructured data to improve detection accuracy.
• Scalable ML Infrastructure: Build and maintain robust, high-throughput, and low-latency ML pipelines for both batch and real-time inference. You will leverage modern technologies like Spark, Ray, Kafka, and Kubernetes to ensure seamless model serving.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Operations, and other Engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. You will define key metrics, run A/B tests, and continuously iterate on model performance.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, drive architectural decisions, and foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning within the AI/ML community at Airbnb.
