As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you will own the technical strategy for the full Modeling → ML Serving → API interface across the Host Pricing organization. All individual contributors at Airbnb are Software Engineers and are expected to remain hands-on, write high-quality code, and mentor fellow engineers on key infrastructural challenges.
- Define the architecture and contracts governing how models move from development to production.
- Lead the buildout of a unified serving stack that eliminates per-model one-off implementations.
- Architect backfill and evaluation infrastructure so modeling teams can simulate production inference over historical data rapidly.
- Establish domain contracts between Modeling and Serving to enable clear, enforced interfaces.

Key Responsibilities
- Define the architecture and technical contracts governing model transitions from development to production.

- 12+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering with substantial production ML systems experience.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Kotlin, Scala, and/or Python.
- Deep understanding of ML systems design including feature stores, training/serving consistency, and model versioning.
- Experience with high-scale batch/real-time pipelines (Spark, Airflow, Kafka) with point-in-time backfill correctness.
- Expertise in architectural patterns for large-scale applications, efficient data contracts, and multi-tenant infrastructure.
- Proven track record of driving cross-team technical initiatives spanning ML and platform engineering.
