Job Overview

Airtable is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager, Professional Services to join our team. This is a pivotal role within our Professional Services division, responsible for leading the delivery of our most complex engagements for enterprise clients. As a Technical Project Manager, you will not merely coordinate but will serve as a technical delivery lead, holding accountability across Airtable’s PS team, external development partners, and enterprise customer stakeholders. Your primary objective will be to guide these diverse groups towards shared milestones, navigating varying cadences, compliance requirements, and organizational dynamics. You will be instrumental in sequencing work, fostering crucial relationships, and making real-time decisions when project plans encounter reality.

What You Will Do:

  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary delivery lead for enterprise customers, owning the relationship, the project plan, and the ultimate outcome from kickoff through go-live and beyond.
  • Cross-Functional Delivery Leadership: Run delivery across all workstreams, including internal teams, external partners, and customer stakeholders, simultaneously managing progress, blockers, and alignment.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Own the project plan end-to-end, encompassing scope, schedule, budget, risk register, and RAID log across the full engagement lifecycle.
  • Technical Decision Making: Make critical technical sequencing decisions when platform constraints, compliance requirements, or partner dependencies necessitate tradeoffs.
  • AI Workflow Transformation: Guide customers through AI workflow transformation, assisting them in moving from human-run processes to AI-augmented and agent-assisted operations, and managing the organizational dynamics that accompany this shift.
  • Leverage AI Tools: Actively use AI tools in your own delivery operations for tasks such as status reporting, risk synthesis, documentation, and stakeholder communication. You will be expected to use AI yourself, not just manage teams who do.
  • Scope Management: Formally manage scope by tracking change requests, assessing their impact on timeline and budget, and running the change order process when the engagement evolves beyond the original Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Methodology Flexibility: Sequence work across Agile sprint cycles and Waterfall delivery milestones as dictated by the engagement’s demands, and be prepared to shift the model when reality requires it.
  • Partner Accountability: Hold external partners accountable across organizational boundaries through relationship building and clarity, rather than direct authority.
  • Compliance and Security Coordination: Coordinate compliance, security, access management, and third-party approvals within regulated enterprise environments.
  • Executive Communication: Keep executive stakeholders accurately informed without requiring them to delve into technical details.
  • Platform Fluency: Work directly in Airtable as an operational tool; hands-on platform fluency is a mandatory requirement.

Who You Are:

  • Proven Delivery Experience: You have a history of delivering technical programs for external customers in a professional services or consulting context, not just managing internal projects. You have experience running steering committees, managing scope conversations, and owning customer outcomes with real accountability.
  • Extensive Management Experience: You possess 5+ years of experience managing technical delivery in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, with accountability for outcomes across teams you do not directly control. You lead through influence and clarity, not organizational authority.
  • AI Tool Fluency: You are genuinely fluent with AI tools, not just aspiring to be. You actively use AI in your daily delivery workflow, have an informed perspective on where agentic systems create leverage and where they introduce risk, and can help customers navigate both.
  • Platform Expertise: You have worked directly in Airtable or a comparable platform, not just managed people who do. You understand how components interact, can identify dependency and sequencing issues by examining the system, and build the tools your team uses to run delivery operations.
  • Formal PM Certification: You hold a PMP or equivalent PMO certification and understand formal project management methodology, applying it as the structure that keeps complex engagements from going off course.
  • Methodology Agility: You operate fluidly across Agile and Waterfall, knowing which model fits the engagement and can run both without defaulting to whichever is more comfortable.
  • Proactive Problem Solver: When plans break, you create order. You don’t wait for someone else to lead.
  • Enterprise Environment Experience: You have delivered in enterprise environments with real compliance, security, and access management requirements. You plan around constraints, not past them.
  • Cross-Organizational Coordination: You have a track record of coordinating delivery across organizational boundaries, including external partners, customer teams, or both.
  • Effective Communicator: You communicate effectively across all levels, providing executive-ready updates for C-level stakeholders, direct technical direction for delivery teams, and clear framing for business SMEs whose work is changing.
