Job Overview
Alfanar Projects is seeking a skilled and experienced Engineer for Testing & Commissioning in the Eastern Region. This role is critical for ensuring the successful operational readiness of power plants and substations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting a wide range of tests on electrical equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning and conducting comprehensive tests on power plant and substation equipment prior to their operational phase.
- Preparing detailed project and new equipment test reports, including necessary updates and corrections.
- Ensuring thorough documentation of all non-conformances identified during testing and troubleshooting efforts.
- Conducting functional testing according to specified schemes and procedures.
- Testing and coordinating activities during customer inspections to ensure compliance and satisfaction.
- Resolving technical issues that arise during power plant testing and site commissioning phases.
- Executing site testing and commissioning activities efficiently and safely.
- Performing testing and commissioning activities related to substations, including various types of relays, switchgear, transformers, and other critical components.
- Adhering strictly to all safety procedures and protocols during all testing and commissioning activities.
- Providing essential technical support by reviewing design documents before their official release to prevent potential issues.
- Initiating continuous improvement efforts within the testing and commissioning processes, maintaining records in consultation with the department manager.
- Initiating corrective and preventive actions to address identified issues and maintaining relevant records.
- Training and mentoring subordinates, forming effective teams to ensure work is completed efficiently.
- Providing leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.
- Delegating tasks effectively to subordinates for each respective assignment.
- Ensuring fair distribution of tasks to maintain morale and motivation among subordinates.
- Performing planned activities to meet operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
- Utilizing resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time parameters.
- Providing periodic reports detailing deviations and the execution of planned tasks.
- Resolving any related problems that arise and escalating complex operational issues to the appropriate management level.
- Coordinating well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, and actively seeking automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Complying with all related policies, procedures, and work instructions.

- Excellent documentation and reporting capabilities.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
