The Opportunity: Accountant in Sharjah, UAE

Almarai is currently seeking a highly qualified and motivated Accountant to join its finance team in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. This is an exceptional opportunity for a finance professional looking to advance their career within a dynamic, fast-paced, and globally recognized FMCG environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Regional Accounting Manager and the local Regional/Area Sales Managers. This position requires intensive coordination across sales depots and the divisional head office to ensure the seamless management and consolidation of financial and management information.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

As an Accountant at Almarai, your core responsibilities will revolve around financial management, reporting, and cross-functional coordination. The key duties include:

• Financial Management: Overseeing and managing the finance teams at the county office and local sales depots to ensure accurate financial record-keeping.
• Coordination & Collaboration: Maintaining intensive, daily coordination with various sales depots and the divisional head office to streamline financial operations.
• Information Consolidation: Consolidating complex financial and management information to provide accurate, timely reports for decision-making.
• ERP System Management: Working confidently within a computerized accounting environment, utilizing advanced ERP systems to process transactions and extract financial data.
• Compliance & Control: Ensuring all accounting practices comply with local regulations, international financial reporting standards (IFRS), and Almarai’s internal control policies.
• Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, variance analyses, and budget reports.
• Stakeholder Support: Providing valuable financial insights and support to Regional Sales Managers and Area Sales Managers to help optimize sales depot performance.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

To be shortlisted for this prestigious role, candidates must meet the following stringent criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is mandatory.
• Professional Qualification: Full or partial qualification from a globally recognized accounting body such as CIMA, ACCA, ICA, or AICPA is highly preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in financial accounting within a commercial organization. Experience within the FMCG sector is highly advantageous.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in computerized accounting environments, including advanced MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong confidence and hands-on experience working with ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle) is essential.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with personnel from diverse professional disciplines and nationalities.
• Adaptability: Strong initiative and the ability to work under pressure to handle a sizable volume of financial activities and meet tight deadlines.
