- Collaborate proactively with a globally distributed team of engineers, product managers, and DevOps specialists to deliver seamless SaaS solutions.
- Write clean, maintainable, and highly efficient Python code to implement new features, resolve complex bugs, and refactor legacy components of the Landscape codebase.
- Uphold and champion a strong commitment to code quality through comprehensive automated testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Actively participate in the engineering lifecycle by conducting thorough code reviews and contributing to architectural discussions and design decisions.
- Take personal ownership of technical challenges, from initial diagnosis and design to final delivery and deployment.
- Assist with release management processes during development cycles to ensure smooth and predictable software delivery.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to optimize and maintain Landscape SaaS, Canonical’s hosted systems management platform.
What We Look For in Candidates
We believe that passion, curiosity, and a strong technical foundation are the keys to success at Canonical. To excel in this role, you should possess:

- Proven proficiency in developing public-facing APIs and web applications, with a strong preference for Python-based development.
- Hands-on experience with popular Python web frameworks such as Flask and Django.
- A solid understanding of relational databases, SQL, and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) tools, with PostgreSQL experience being a significant advantage.
- Comfort and familiarity with Ubuntu or other Debian-based Linux distributions as both a development and deployment environment.
- Excellent communication skills, accountability, and the ability to thrive in a self-motivated, remote work setting.
