Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate proactively with a highly distributed global engineering team.
- Write high-quality, clean, and maintainable Python code accompanied by robust unit and functional tests.
- Design, develop, and deploy new features for Canonical’s cloud and system management products.
- Debug complex software issues and produce high-quality patches and fixes.
- Review code submissions from peer engineers, providing constructive feedback to maintain high standards.
- Participate in technical discussions, investigate new technologies, and propose innovative solutions.
- Engage actively with the open-source community and upstream projects.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a related technical discipline.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Python programming, specifically on Linux platforms.
- A strong passion for technology, open-source software, and working with highly skilled professionals.
- Curiosity, flexibility, clear articulation, and a high level of personal accountability.
- Strong soft skills, self-motivation, and an enterprising mindset suitable for remote work.
- Interest in or experience with at least two of the following: Ubuntu Linux systems administration, continuous integration (CI/CD), Debian packaging, or public/private cloud platforms.
