About the Role:
Continental is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations for its Vergölst GmbH division. This executive leadership role is responsible for the overall operational success of Vergölst’s specialized tire shops across Germany. You will drive business performance by achieving sales and profit targets, implementing strategic initiatives, and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the operational performance of all Vergölst specialized tire shops in Germany, ensuring targets for sales and profitability are met within budget.
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the ContiTrade business strategy, focusing on optimizing operational processes and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the external organization and its management team, fostering talent development and high performance.
- Conduct thorough market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and develop strategic measures for efficiency and performance enhancement, while ensuring a market-oriented pricing policy.
- Develop, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to steer the business effectively and derive actionable strategic insights.
- Collaborate closely with other functional departments within Vergölst, ContiTrade, the broader Continental group, and external partners to ensure seamless operations and strategic alignment.
- Champion and ensure the implementation of sustainability, occupational safety, and health strategies within your area of responsibility.
What We’re Looking For:
- A completed business degree or a comparable qualification.
- Substantial professional experience in sales, the tire trade, and/or workshop operations.
- Proven track record in establishing, leading, and developing large, decentralized organizations with multiple layers of management.
- Deep expertise in Operational Excellence, Lean Management, and continuous process improvement methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with a high affinity for numbers and extensive experience in KPI-driven business management and strategic decision-making.
- Fluent proficiency in both written and spoken German and English.
- Demonstrated ability in stakeholder management and effective communication across all organizational levels, from workshop management to executive leadership.
- A strong customer and service orientation, coupled with a strategic and forward-thinking mindset.
- The ability to analyze complex situations from a high-level perspective while also understanding critical operational details to make sound decisions and implement lasting solutions in a dynamic environment.
