Selection Process:

  • Applications will be shortlisted based on normalized marks obtained in the qualifying degree as per the formula available on the official Indian Navy website.
  • For BE/B.Tech candidates, marks up to the fifth semester will be considered, while postgraduate candidates will be assessed on marks from all semesters (pre-final year for final-year students).
  • Shortlisted candidates will be notified for the SSB interview via email or SMS and must download the call-up letter accordingly.
  • Requests for change of SSB center are not permitted, and any date-related queries must be addressed to the concerned SSB authority.
  • Candidates appearing for SSB for the first time are eligible for AC 3-tier rail fare reimbursement.
  • The final merit list will be prepared based on SSB marks, medical clearance, and availability of vacancies.

General Information / Instructions:

  • Vacancies are tentative and may change based on training slots and service requirements.
  • Only one application is permitted; submitting multiple applications will result in cancellation.
  • Male candidates shortlisted for GS(X) may volunteer for the submarine arm subject to medical fitness, vacancies, and service needs.
  • Selection for submarine or other specializations will depend on clearing required medical standards and service requirements.
  • NCC ‘C’ certificate holders with a minimum ‘B’ grade may receive a 5% relaxation in cutoff marks for SSB shortlisting, subject to eligibility conditions.
  • Candidates must fulfill the prescribed educational qualifications before joining INA, Ezhimala, failing which they will not be permitted to join.
  • Applicants must indicate branch preferences carefully, as they will not be considered for unselected branches.
  • No equivalent BE/B.Tech streams other than those specified will be accepted at any stage of selection.
  • Candidates with pending backlogs during document verification will not be allowed to appear for SSB.
  • Medical standards, including height, weight, and other requirements, must be met; change of medical center is not allowed.
  • Selected candidates will be inducted as Sub Lieutenant after clearing the induction medical examination.
  • Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training; marriage during training will lead to discharge and recovery of expenses.
  • The probation period is two years, and officers may be discharged for unsatisfactory performance.
  • False declarations, misinformation, or concealment of facts will lead to cancellation of candidature at any stage.
  • Use or possession of narcotics is strictly prohibited and may result in debarment or removal from service.
  • Mere inclusion in the merit list does not guarantee appointment, which is subject to vacancy and statutory guidelines.
