Frequently Asked Questions
Syllabus and Core Subjects
Preparing for the IGCAR JRF screening test requires a deep understanding of core concepts in your chosen discipline. For Physical Sciences, focus on condensed matter physics, computational physics, and quantum mechanics. Chemical Sciences candidates should emphasize thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and radiochemistry. Engineering candidates must master core subjects like fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and materials science.
Exam Pattern and Strategy
The screening test is designed to evaluate conceptual clarity and analytical skills. Since the test is highly competitive, practicing previous years’ GATE and CSIR-NET question papers is highly recommended. Time management is crucial, so taking mock tests regularly will help build speed and accuracy.
