Job Description: IT & DC Manager

iTech Engineering Consultancy is seeking a highly experienced and strategic IT & DC Manager to lead its information technology and document control functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the IT strategy, managing enterprise-level IT infrastructure, and ensuring robust document management processes aligned with industry standards. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of the AEC industry’s unique technological needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Strategy and Leadership: Develop and execute the IT strategy aligned with iTech’s operational and service delivery objectives. Lead IT budgeting, procurement planning, and cost optimization across software, hardware, and operational services.
  • Infrastructure Management: Manage enterprise-level IT infrastructure, including servers, virtualization environments, networks, cloud platforms (including Autodesk Construction Cloud), and cybersecurity posture.
  • Policy Development: Own and develop IT policies covering architecture, data governance, licensing, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Planning (DRP/BCP), security, and acceptable use policies.
  • Digital Transformation: Drive digital transformation by integrating cloud, AI-powered, and automation tools that support BIM production, project collaboration, and business workflows.
  • Performance Evaluation: Continuously evaluate and benchmark IT infrastructure and systems performance, analyze emerging trends, and provide strategic recommendations to enhance scalability, reliability, and efficiency. Research and evaluate emerging technologies to support project and operational needs.
  • Technology Investments: Develop business case justifications and cost-benefit analyses for technology investments.
  • Vendor and Contract Management: Lead vendor and consultant negotiations, manage service agreements, and ensure contractual obligations meet organizational goals, compliance requirements, and service level expectations. Oversee hardware and software procurement, licensing compliance, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Day-to-Day Operations: Manage day-to-day IT operations, including servers, networks, endpoints, operating systems, system upgrades and updates, cloud platforms, and hybrid infrastructures. Manage IT onboarding/offboarding procedures, license compliance, and endpoint lifecycle.
  • End-User Support: Oversee the provisioning of end-user support services, including helpdesk, remote access, and training.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and define business and technical requirements for new technology initiatives, ensuring solutions are aligned with operational goals and user needs.
  • Risk Management & Security: Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and enforce endpoint security. Promote cybersecurity awareness across teams and ensure secure data access, storage, and transmission.
  • Staff Management: Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions. Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organizations executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
  • System Availability: Ensure high availability, business continuity, and performance of core business systems and BIM environments.
  • EDMS Development & Management: Develop, implement, and maintain a centralized Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) for all corporate and project-related documentation. Ensure proper recording, versioning, traceability, and archiving of project-related documents (Shop drawings, RFIs, Submittals, Transmittals, Technical queries, Contracts, NDAs, Minutes of meetings, As-built documentation).
  • Document Control Compliance: Enforce document control procedures in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 19650 (for BIM), and company QMS. Conduct regular audits and ensure document accuracy, traceability, and version control.
  • Platform Coordination: Coordinate and manage recognized industry platforms such as Aconex, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and SharePoint.
  • Training & Support: Train and support internal teams on document control protocols, systems usage, and audit preparedness.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 10-12+ years of progressive experience in IT management, operations, and document control, including at least 5 years in an IT leadership role within the AEC industry.
  • Relevant certifications preferred: ITIL, Microsoft/Azure, CompTIA Security+.
  • Proven leadership in managing enterprise-level IT infrastructure and AECO technology environments.
  • Hands-on expertise in Microsoft-based ecosystems, including virtualization platforms, server/storage systems, Microsoft 365, Azure cloud services, network hardware, and cybersecurity solutions.
