Role Overview: Consultant/AM/Manager – Audit & Risk Advisory

KPMG is seeking dynamic professionals to join its Audit & Risk Advisory team. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in internal audits, risk-based audit methodologies, and process improvements. A strong understanding of performing Control Design Assessment (CDA) and Test of Operating Effectiveness (TOE) is essential. The role requires a solid grasp of Asset and Wealth Management (AWM), PWM, Global Markets (GM), capital markets (including equity and derivative products), Finance, Third-party Risk Management, and Treasury Audit. This position offers significant exposure to global clients across various industries and the opportunity to engage in strategic risk consulting engagements.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk-based internal audits across diverse functions and Banking Lines of Business (LOBs), including Asset and Wealth Management (AWM), PWM, Global Market (GM), capital markets (equity and derivative products), Finance, Third-party Risk Management, Credit Risk, and Operational Risk Audit.
  • Perform process consulting and internal/risk consulting engagements.
  • Undertake process walkthroughs and prepare Risk Control Matrices (RCM) for audit execution.
  • Assess internal controls, identify process gaps, and propose effective improvements or management action plans.
  • Maintain strong written documentation of process walkthroughs, RCM, testing, and audit observations.
  • Support or lead audits related to Credit Risk, Trade Management (trade confirmation, trade reconciliation, EOD controls) with a robust understanding of risks and controls.
  • Interact with Global Stakeholders to discuss potential audit observations.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports with clear findings and actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for process enhancement.
  • Evaluate trading desk operations.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and stakeholder management skills in client-facing roles.

The Individual

  • Experience in Internal Audit/Risk Consulting with a Global Bank/Investment Bank, its GCC, or a BIG4 firm working on similar clients.
  • Sound understanding of Global Market and capital market products (equities, futures, options, swaps).
  • Strong understanding of various lines of business within a global bank and the trade lifecycle.
  • Possess strong domain knowledge on securities-related regulations, particularly those related to PRA.
  • Ability to perform and interpret process gap analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Understanding of control rationalization, optimization, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Hands-on experience in Data Analytics, Tableau, and Data Visualization.
  • Comfortable managing multiple engagements across different functions.
  • Willingness to travel.

Qualification

  • Qualified CAs with articleship from Big-4 firms.
  • MBAs from top 10 Business Schools.
  • 2-8 years of experience in risk consulting/internal audits, Global Market, capital markets, operations, or a compliance function role within the industry.
  • A solid understanding of internal audit principles, business processes, and sector-specific knowledge is required.
  • Certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) are considered an added advantage.
