Job Overview

KPMG India is looking for an experienced and highly skilled professional to join its Cyber Security advisory team as a Consultant in Cyber Forensics and Incident Response. This role is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and offers an exceptional opportunity to work with a prestigious global professional services firm. As a Consultant, you will play a critical role in helping clients navigate complex cyber security incidents, secure their digital environments, and investigate security breaches. The modern threat landscape is evolving rapidly, and organizations face sophisticated cyber attacks daily. In this position, you will be at the forefront of defense and investigation. You will be responsible for providing deep insights to clients by uncovering their business needs and challenges, performing quantitative and observational data analyses, and presenting actionable recommendations. Key aspects of this role include:
  • Digital Forensic Investigations: You will conduct end-to-end digital forensic investigations across various platforms, including endpoints, servers, cloud environments, and mobile devices. This requires deep technical knowledge of operating systems, file systems, and forensic artifacts.
  • Incident Response Support: You will support cyber incident response engagements, guiding clients through containment, eradication, recovery, and root cause analysis. Your quick decision-making and technical expertise will help minimize damage and downtime for clients.
  • Evidence Management: Performing evidence acquisition, maintaining strict chain of custody documentation, and executing forensic imaging using industry-standard tools and procedures are vital to ensure that findings are legally defensible.
  • Threat Analysis: You will analyze complex logs, memory dumps, and network traffic to identify indicators of compromise (IOCs) and map out the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) used by threat actors.
  • Malware & Profiling: Assisting in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and threat actor profiling to understand the nature of the attack and prevent future occurrences.
  • Reporting & Collaboration: Preparing detailed technical reports and executive summaries that translate complex technical findings into clear business risks for clients and internal stakeholders. You will also collaborate closely with legal, compliance, and IT teams during investigations.
In addition to technical execution, consultants at KPMG India are expected to manage client relationships effectively. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping organizations understand their vulnerabilities and build resilient security postures. This involves participating in post-incident reviews, identifying lessons learned, and continuously improving incident response playbooks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital forensics, a deep understanding of cyber security principles, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience working with Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) or specialized investigation agencies is highly valued and will give candidates a distinct advantage. By joining KPMG, you will have access to world-class training, cutting-edge forensic tools, and a global network of professionals, enabling you to accelerate your career in cyber security.
