Sandfire is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Manager – Human Resources to join their team. This is a full-time, mid-senior level position based in Perth, Western Australia, Australia (implied), focusing on driving the people strategy within a dynamic mining industry context.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies aligned with Sandfire’s business objectives.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the HR function, including People Strategy and Business Partnership, Workforce Planning, Organisation Design, Recruitment and Selection, Reward and Benefits, HR Financial Governance, Organisational Development and Performance, Engagement, Localisation, Mobility and Regulatory Compliance, and People Data and Analytics.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all people-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation, particularly in operational regions like Botswana.
  • Lead and develop the HR team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Manage HR budgets and ensure efficient financial governance.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Navigate complex employee and industrial relations issues with impartiality and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and organized labor bodies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organisational Psychology, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of broad HR experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior HR leadership or HR business partnering role.
  • Demonstrated experience in a mining, resources, industrial, or similarly complex operational environment is strongly preferred.
  • Proven exposure to employee/industrial relations, workforce planning, reward, talent management, organisational development, and HR governance.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant employment and labour legislation (e.g., Botswana).
  • Experience managing an HR team, HR budget, and senior stakeholder relationships.
