Stripe is seeking a highly skilled and experienced AP & T&E Manager to join its Bangalore Finance Operations (BFin) center. The BFin center serves as a critical hub for high-quality financial operations execution, partnering closely with Stripe’s global functional finance leaders to deliver reliable, scalable, and controlled finance operations. As the AP & T&E Manager, you will own the day-to-day operational delivery across two core workstreams: Accounts Payable (AP) and Travel & Expense (T&E). This is a hands-on people management role where you will directly lead a team of specialists, ensuring consistent SLA performance, high processing quality, and strong controls compliance.

Key Responsibilities and Scope of Work

• Team Leadership & Development: Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of AP and T&E specialists. You will set clear performance expectations, conduct structured 1:1 sessions, and build individual development plans. Additionally, you will lead hiring efforts for open roles, assessing candidates rigorously against operational and behavioral standards.
• Accounts Payable (AP) Execution: Oversee the end-to-end AP processing lifecycle, including invoice receipt, purchase order (PO) matching, approval routing, payment run execution, and multi-currency, multi-entity reconciliation. You will maintain payment accuracy, manage exception handling queues, and resolve aged items within agreed SLAs.
• Travel & Expense (T&E) Execution: Manage end-to-end T&E operations, including expense report reviews, corporate card administration, out-of-policy item handling, and reimbursement cycle management. You will consistently enforce Stripe’s T&E policy and partner with the Payroll team to ensure clean and timely outputs.
• Quality and SLA Performance: Own and report on key performance metrics such as processing cycle time, error rates, SLA adherence, and exception volumes. You will conduct root cause analyses on recurring errors to distinguish one-off mistakes from systemic defects.
• Global Partnership: Serve as the primary Bangalore execution point of contact for Stripe’s global AP functional organization. You will translate process directions and policy updates from global leads into clear, documented operating procedures for your team.
• Controls and Compliance: Ensure all AP and T&E processes operate strictly within Stripe’s SOX control framework. You will maintain detailed procedure documentation for internal and external audits, perform periodic control attestations, and proactively identify and remediate control gaps.
