Job Overview

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform built for businesses of all sizes, from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups. Millions of companies rely on Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our core mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, presenting an unparalleled opportunity for individuals to shape the global economy and undertake impactful work.

About the Team

As Stripe’s user base and global presence expand rapidly, we encounter unique support challenges stemming from our scale and the diverse nature of our business partners. The Stripe Delivery Center (SDC) strategy is designed to provide operational leverage and broaden Stripe’s capabilities to meet the scaled needs of both external users and internal teams. Our commitment is to deliver frictionless experiences for all users, regardless of whether they are an Independent Business, Startup, SMB, or Enterprise. The SDC’s mission is to provide every Stripe User with the best possible support experience.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will manage a team of Associates, acting in a player-coach capacity. You will be accountable for supporting your team members in achieving their target goals and providing mentorship in subject matter expertise. Your responsibilities will encompass the ongoing management of your team’s operational performance against set KPIs, managing capacity and scheduling, and effectively dividing and assigning work among team members. You will ensure your team is equipped with all necessary skills and resources to excel in their roles. Setting clear goals and expectations for both individual and team performance is paramount. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving refinements in team processes and procedures. Additionally, you will support recruitment and hiring initiatives, coach and mentor individuals for career progression through structured development conversations, and provide continuous performance feedback, including facilitating periodic formal performance reviews. A key aspect of the role is to drive and own initiatives that contribute to making the team a warm and welcoming place to work. You will also implement process improvements aimed at enhancing team productivity, reducing manual effort, and elevating the user experience.

Who You Are

We are seeking individuals who meet the minimum requirements to be considered for this role. If you meet these criteria, we strongly encourage you to apply. Preferred qualifications are considered a bonus but not a strict requirement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience leading operations teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exemplary planning and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multiple, cross-functional stakeholders to achieve results.
  • Previous experience mentoring others and the ability to constructively provide feedback.
  • Ability to motivate the team and keep them engaged in an otherwise structured process.
  • Proven ability to be subject matter experts in the relevant line of business.
  • Previous experience in a team lead or people management role.
  • Prior experience in customer service or internal/external user-facing operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using data to set priorities, track progress, and spot trends before they become problems. Comfortable building or maintaining dashboards and interpreting operational metrics.
  • Ability to naturally integrate numbers into conversations, grounding decisions in evidence and making tradeoffs visible, rather than just reporting data.

In-Office Expectations

Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team, and location. For example, Stripes in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico, Bengaluru, India, and Dublin, Ireland work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.

Pay and Benefits

Stripe does not yet include pay ranges in job postings in every country. Stripe strongly values pay transparency and is working toward pay transparency globally.

We look forward to hearing from you. At Stripe, we’re looking for people with passion, grit, and integrity. You’re encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn’t precisely match the job description. Your skills and passion will stand out—and set you apart—especially if your career has taken some extraordinary twists and turns. At Stripe, we welcome diverse perspectives and people who think rigorously and aren’t afraid to challenge assumptions. Join us.
