Job Overview

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform that empowers businesses of all sizes, from startups to global enterprises, to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we are looking for passionate, driven individuals to help us achieve this ambitious goal. Joining Stripe means having an unprecedented opportunity to shape the global economy and do the most important work of your career.

About the Team

The Global Business Services (GBS) team, specifically the Business Practices team, plays a crucial role in defining and managing the policies and processes that govern Stripe’s Go-To-Market (GTM) motion. This includes overseeing deal policy, approval workflows, revenue contracting, and other critical deal-related operations. The team’s impact is broad, influencing various sales segments and geographical regions, and driving positive change across GTM functions. GBS priorities are aligned with Stripe’s leadership vision and involve close collaboration with sales and cross-functional organizations. This role sits within the Business Practices team, focusing on establishing, managing, and enhancing policies and processes to improve deal quality and velocity.

What You’ll Do

As a Program Manager, Deal Operations, you will be at the forefront of solving complex GTM deal lifecycle challenges. Your primary focus will be on creating scalable and efficient deal policies and processes to support commercial activities. We are seeking a self-starter with a proven ability to manage ambiguous, global-scale programs, navigate multi-layered stakeholder relationships, and engage effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong background in deal policy and process, preferably within a hypergrowth technology/GTM organization.
  • Superior communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with senior stakeholders across diverse functions.
  • A passion for solving complex problems with limited oversight and incomplete data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be accountable for building and driving large-scale deal lifecycle transformation program changes from inception to completion.
  • Directly responsible for marshaling the necessary cross-functional support and resources to achieve program objectives.
  • Own Business Practices’ CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) governance across the entire deal lifecycle. This includes coordinating UAT for new features, ensuring all Generally Available (GA) products are accessible within CPQ, and establishing scalable best practices for evaluating and prioritizing new CPQ requests.
  • Manage directly, or coordinate, the ‘full-stack’ of change management activities. This encompasses stakeholder engagement, creating champions, developing messaging and communication plans, and providing essential support and enablement.
  • Develop and nurture strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across all levels and functions within Stripe.
  • Work cross-functionally to proactively identify opportunities for improving the deal lifecycle for GTM teams, addressing strategy, people, policy, process, and/or technology aspects.
  • Seamlessly prioritize among various competing projects and synthesize data to guide strategy and support decision-making.
  • Formulate and present executive-level recommendations, driving necessary decisions to move initiatives forward.

Who You Are

We are looking for individuals who meet the minimum requirements and are encouraged to apply even if their experience doesn’t perfectly align with every detail. Your unique skills and passion will be highly valued.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A strong track record of successfully delivering global, complex enterprise deal lifecycle/commercial transformation programs with multiple constituents in a dynamic and ambiguous environment, from start to finish.
  • Demonstrated experience with deal management processes, conducting deal process-related root cause analysis, and working with commercial agreements.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in program management, business operations, management consulting, or a closely related discipline.
  • The ability to perform well under pressure, exhibiting a high degree of adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • A strong aptitude for diagnosing, simplifying, and structuring problems and their corresponding solutions, while maintaining a firm grasp of the intricate details.
  • An enthusiastic “roll up your sleeves” mentality and a proactive approach to tackling challenges.
  • Excellent analytical, presentation, and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders across all levels, from front-line employees to executive leadership. You set a high standard for communication effectiveness.
  • Comfort and proficiency in using Excel and/or Google Sheets for analyzing large datasets.
  • Prior experience working with tools such as Salesforce, CPQ, Deal Approval systems, and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comfort operating effectively with incomplete data and the ability to adapt and re-prioritize activities as business needs evolve.
  • Deep problem-solving and analytical expertise, particularly in addressing business challenges (commercial, operational, financial) within a sales-oriented environment.
  • A growth mindset and innate curiosity, viewing every interaction as an opportunity for learning and improvement for yourself and those around you.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities throughout your work—taking ownership of challenges, selflessly supporting colleagues, and setting the standard for quality in your deliverables.
  • Prior experience in the payments and/or SaaS industry.

Working Remotely at Stripe

A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from any of our physical offices. While you are welcome to utilize office spaces for team meetings, business events, or meet-ups, the expectation is that you will primarily work from home. Stripe does not cover relocation costs to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that align with your current or planned place of residence.
