Job Overview

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform empowering millions of businesses worldwide, from global enterprises to ambitious startups, to accept payments, boost revenue, and unlock new business opportunities. Our core mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, presenting an unparalleled chance to shape the global economy and undertake career-defining work.

About the Team

The Workplace team is dedicated to creating and maintaining welcoming, comfortable, and intuitive work environments. These spaces are meticulously designed to foster collaboration, well-being, and productivity, while adhering to the stringent safety, security, and confidentiality standards essential for a financial services company. Our global team comprises operations, hospitality, and finance professionals who directly influence the daily experiences of employees, visitors, and candidates across more than 20 international office locations. This team manages facilities, daily operations, and programs, including a dedicated culinary team focused on preparing nutritious meals.

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a strategic, high-EQ leader with extensive workplace management experience who is passionate about delivering an exceptional workplace experience for our employees (‘Stripes’). As a vital member of the Experience team, you will ensure the seamless operation of workplace services, experiences, facilities, and programs at our Bengaluru office. Acting as a business partner, you will possess a deep understanding of the needs and daily realities of Stripes at your location, cultivating strong relationships with site leads and cross-functional partners across the organization.

This role demands a high degree of expertise and operational oversight, from understanding building functions to governing contractor performance and ensuring financial accountability. The Bengaluru site is complex, featuring a significant employee transportation program, and you will be responsible for its reliability, service quality, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate closely with our integrated facilities management partner, setting clear expectations, maintaining robust governance, addressing performance gaps, and ensuring services meet Stripe’s operational and workplace experience standards.

Furthermore, you will play a critical role in managing operational incidents and disruptions. This involves maintaining composure under pressure, structuring ambiguous situations, coordinating internal and external partners, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and translating lessons learned into durable operational improvements.

A key aspect of the role is anticipating business needs by understanding both the site’s specific context and the broader company growth trajectory. You will gather and synthesize feedback from various sources to ensure the workplace strategy is informed by genuine insights. While enterprise workplace strategy is developed centrally, you are expected to provide informed recommendations based on local business needs and operational insights, and to lead their successful implementation and adoption at your site. You will develop site-level plans, surface material risks early, and present leaders with clear recommendations and trade-offs, rather than simply escalating problems.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing workplace operations at your site(s), providing direction on all workplace services, including building operations, front of house, shipping & receiving, events support, and employee health and safety.
  • Making sound, independent operational decisions by balancing business impact, risk, cost, and employee experience, seeking alignment when decisions create broader organizational impact or precedent.
  • Leading, coaching, and motivating a team of workplace services professionals, providing direction, coaching, and performance management to drive team excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, department heads, and cross-functional teams.
  • Developing a strong rapport with locally assigned Stripes.
  • Owning operational performance for your site by monitoring service levels and utilization, identifying trends, resolving root causes, and driving continuous improvement across workplace operations.
  • Proactively anticipating business needs by understanding both local context and company priorities.
  • Developing thoughtful, data-informed recommendations that help shape workplace programs and experiences while maintaining alignment with global standards.
  • Holding workplace partners and service providers accountable for performance, ensuring contractual obligations, service levels, and operational standards are consistently achieved while driving continuous improvement.
  • Working closely with our Finance & Strategy partner and IFM partner to develop and oversee the opex budget for all facilities, opex, fixed assets, and events of the Bengaluru office.
  • Collaborating closely with the local site leadership team to activate the office by creating engagement, connection, and an inclusive environment.
  • Crafting relevant communications and documentation regarding Workplace policies and programs for Stripes.
  • Ensuring consistent execution of global workplace programs, standards, and policies at your site, as developed by our Food, Space Planning, and Programs teams, adapting implementation to local operational requirements while maintaining alignment with enterprise objectives.
  • Supporting the Workplace team’s goals by taking on ad hoc tasks and projects as they arise.
