Understanding the URSC Apprentice Recruitment 2026
The U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), a part of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has announced a significant recruitment drive for Apprentice positions in 2026. This opportunity is aimed at providing valuable training and experience to fresh graduates and diploma holders in various engineering and commercial practice disciplines. With a total of 410 vacancies, this recruitment is a golden chance for aspiring individuals to kickstart their careers in a premier research and development organization of India.
Eligibility Criteria and Qualification Details
To be eligible for the URSC Apprentice Recruitment 2026, candidates must meet specific educational and passing year criteria. For the Graduate Apprenticeship, a B.E./B.Tech. degree in the relevant engineering discipline is required. For the Technician Apprenticeship, a Diploma in the respective engineering discipline is necessary. Additionally, for the Commercial Practice Apprenticeship, a Diploma in Commercial Practice is the qualifying qualification. A crucial aspect of the eligibility is the passing year; only candidates who have completed their qualifying examination in the years 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 are eligible. Candidates who passed out before 2021 are not considered. Furthermore, the application is restricted to regular candidates, excluding those with sandwich courses, certificate courses, private college degrees, or short-term courses. Individuals currently pursuing higher studies are also ineligible.
Application Process and Important Dates
The application process for the URSC Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is entirely online and requires candidates to register on two portals: the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal and the UMANG portal. The registration on the NATS portal (https://nats.education.gov.in) is the primary step, where candidates need to enroll and upload necessary documents. Following successful registration on NATS, candidates must then proceed to the UMANG portal (https://web.umang.gov.in/landing/) to search for “URSC Apprenticeship” and complete the application by entering their NATS enrolment number and other required details. Understanding the Selection Procedure
The selection process for the URSC Apprentice positions is primarily based on academic merit. Candidates will be shortlisted based on the percentage of marks obtained in their qualifying Degree or Diploma examinations. The shortlisted candidates will then be called for a Document Verification stage. A final panel will be prepared based on the academic scores of the candidates who successfully clear the document verification. Apprentices will be inducted against the available vacancies strictly in order of their merit in the panel. It is important to note that this is an apprenticeship engagement and does not guarantee future employment with URSC or ISRO.
Stipend and Training Duration
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend during their training period. Graduate Apprentices (B.E./B.Tech.) will be paid a stipend of ₹12,300/- per month. For Technician Apprentices (Diploma) and Commercial Practice Apprentices, the monthly stipend will be ₹10,900/-. The training duration for all apprentices is fixed at 12 months, commencing from the date of execution of the Apprenticeship contract. This period is designed to provide comprehensive hands-on experience and skill development in a professional environment.
Key Instructions and Documents Required
Candidates are strongly advised to use a valid and active email ID for registration, as all future communications will be sent to this address.
