Overview of the Next Selection Stages

With the release of the UP Home Guard Result 2026, the focus now shifts entirely to the physical and verification stages. Out of the massive pool of applicants, only 1,07,221 candidates have made it to this stage, which is approximately 2.6 times the number of available vacancies. This means the competition remains fierce, and candidates must prepare meticulously for the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Physical Standard Test (PST) Requirements

The Physical Standard Test is qualifying in nature but mandatory. Candidates must meet the minimum physical measurements prescribed by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB). Failing to meet these standards will result in immediate disqualification.

• Height (Male): General, OBC, and SC candidates must meet the minimum height requirement (typically 168 cm), while ST candidates receive relaxation (typically 160 cm).
• Height (Female): General, OBC, and SC female candidates must meet the minimum height (typically 152 cm), and ST female candidates must be at least 147 cm.
• Chest Measurement (Male only): A minimum chest size of 79 cm (unexpanded) and 84 cm (expanded) is generally required for General/OBC/SC, with a mandatory 5 cm expansion. ST candidates require 77 cm (unexpanded) and 82 cm (expanded).
• Weight (Female only): Female candidates must weigh at least 40 kg to qualify.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Preparation Tips

The Physical Efficiency Test is a rigorous test of endurance and stamina. Since the running distances are substantial, candidates should not wait for the official schedule announcement to begin their training. Daily practice is essential to build the required cardiovascular capacity.

• Male Candidates: Must complete a 4.8 km run within 28 minutes. To achieve this, start with slow, long-distance jogs to build stamina, then gradually introduce interval training to improve speed.
• Female Candidates: Must complete a 2.4 km run within 16 minutes. Focus on maintaining a consistent pace throughout the run rather than sprinting early on.
• Hydration and Nutrition: Maintain a balanced diet rich in complex carbohydrates and proteins to aid muscle recovery. Stay well-hydrated throughout the day, especially during training sessions.
• Footwear: Invest in a good pair of running shoes to prevent shin splints, joint pain, and other common running injuries.

Document Verification (DV) Preparation

Alongside the physical tests, candidates will undergo a thorough Document Verification process. Any discrepancy between the details filled in the application form and the original documents can lead to disqualification.

• Essential Documents: Keep original copies of your 10th and 12th mark sheets, passing certificates, domicile certificate of Uttar Pradesh, and category/caste certificate (if claiming reservation).
• Preferential Qualifications: If you claimed extra marks for NCC certificates, computer certificates, or sports achievements, ensure you have the valid, original certificates ready.
• Identity Proof: Keep your Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Voter ID updated and matching the name on your educational certificates.
• Photocopies: Prepare at least two sets of self-attested photocopies of all documents along with recent passport-sized photographs.
