About the Role:

Wipro is seeking an experienced OpenStack / Openshift Administrator to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial for deploying, configuring, administering, and maintaining robust OpenStack cloud environments. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting of cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability of services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, administer, and maintain OpenStack cloud environments.
• Manage and operate core OpenStack services including Nova (compute), Neutron (networking), Cinder (block storage), Glance (image service), Keystone (identity), Horizon (dashboard), and Heat (orchestration).
• Monitor the performance of cloud infrastructure across compute, storage, and networking layers, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
• Perform regular system upgrades, patching, backups, and disaster recovery activities to ensure business continuity.
• Configure and manage networking services, tenant isolation, and security policies within the OpenStack environment.
• Automate routine operational tasks, deployment processes, and system management using Shell/Python scripting and configuration management tools like Ansible.
• Collaborate effectively with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and high availability of cloud services.
• Handle incident management, conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues, and implement performance optimization strategies.
• Create and maintain comprehensive operational documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge base articles.

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven hands-on administration experience in OpenStack environments.
• Strong proficiency in Linux administration, particularly with RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu distributions.
• In-depth knowledge of OpenStack core services such as Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, and Glance.
• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure issues.
• Good understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., KVM, VMware) and networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, SDN).

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
• Experience with VMware administration.
• Exposure to Telecom/NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) environments.
• Familiarity with other cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
